HBOT Orientation: Overview & Preparation
11 minutes 3 secondsThis first segment focuses on the fundamentals of HBOT at Summit and the practical preparation steps that help patients arrive ready for treatment.
Start Here Before Your First Dive
This page brings together Summit's HBOT orientation videos and the core ideas from our printed guide so you can feel informed and confident before starting your program.
It is meant to clarify the overall treatment experience, basic safety expectations, what happens before, during, and after each dive, and the consistency that helps the program work well over time.
Recommended First Watch
Our complete orientation for one clear walkthrough of the treatment overview, health and safety basics, the chamber experience, and the day-to-day commitment that supports progress.
This combined orientation brings the major themes of the printed guide together in one video, including what HBOT is, how a typical session works, how to prepare, and what Summit asks of clients throughout the program.
Review the Same Material in Two Segments
If you prefer to break up the orientation and watch in two parts, these two videos break the complete orientation into focused sections covering preparation first and the dive experience and treatment commitment second.
This first segment focuses on the fundamentals of HBOT at Summit and the practical preparation steps that help patients arrive ready for treatment.
This second segment covers what the chamber experience is like and reinforces the consistency, follow-through, and expectations that matter during treatment.
Booklet Themes at a Glance
Come prepared with a light meal or snack, good hydration, and enough time to check in, change, and use the restroom before your session begins.
Arrive clean and unscented, change into Summit scrubs, and leave restricted personal items out of the chamber unless staff has approved them.
Sessions take place in a spacious multi-person chamber with trained staff present to guide you through descent, oxygen phases, and ascent.
You may notice normal pressure changes in your ears, and you will be supported with instructions, equipment setup, and quiet activities during treatment.
After treatment, you will clean your hood or mask, return any Summit items, gather your belongings, and take a few simple recovery steps like hydrating and eating.
The goal is to make each visit feel orderly and repeatable so the next session starts smoothly.
Many clients follow a structured multi-week protocol, so consistency matters. If illness, congestion, or scheduling issues come up, Summit wants to hear from you early.
Your treatment is also supported by communication, counseling, and a respectful shared environment, not just time in the chamber.
